Project Overview
The transfer of title is authorized under the streamlined process of the John D. Dingell Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act. The District has paid the United States Bureau of Reclamation (Bureau) for the construction of infrastructure within Davis and Weber Counties. The Weber Basin Water Conservancy District (District) currently maintains these facilities for District use.
This project involves the transfer of approximately 81 miles of secondary water system pipelines, ranging in size from 2-inch to 60-inch diameter, 19.5 miles of land drains, 431 acres of easements associated with the pipelines and land drains, 7 pump stations, 7 wells, and 6.9 acres of fee title land interests associated with pump stations and wells federally owned to local ownership, enabling us to control and operate the local infrastructure to benefit the local communities along the Wasatch Front. The transfer will allow us to move forward with long-term planning and investment that aligns with the District to expand the necessary water supplies and infrastructure to deliver water to the growing population.
