Due to ongoing drought conditions, secondary irrigation water service will be shut off on September 15, 2026.

West Haven Secondary Water System: Hooper Irrigation will discontinue water deliveries after September 4, 2026, and the District will continue service from remaining sources through September 15, 2026, the scheduled end of the irrigation season. West Haven residents should expect reduced water pressure, especially during peak usage hours, and are encouraged to coordinate watering schedules with neighbors to help minimize impacts.

Recent significant weather events along areas of the Wasatch Back, specifically in the area of the recent Rocky Canyon fire which burned approximately 16,000 acres near East Canyon Reservoir, has resulted in increased levels of naturally occurring and wildfire-related organic materials in the Weber River. The Weber River is the primary source of surface water for the Weber Basin Water Conservancy District’s (District) water treatment plants. The water treatment plants are highly effective at removing organics in the water, however, extreme levels of organics in the river mean that there may temporarily be a more pronounced organic smell or taste to the water being received from the river and being distributed to the system. District staff are continuously monitoring the water quality to ensure that the treated water being delivered to the distribution system complies with all State and Federal safe drinking water standards.
